How Allied Pickfords improved their sustainability while reducing waste costs

Allied Pickfords

Allied Pickfords is a large commercial removal and business relocation company in Western Sydney that was burdened with waste costs of over $100,000 annually.

In particular, significant amounts of EPS (Styrofoam) were going into landfill. This contributed to increased waste costs because EPS is difficult to recycle and expensive to bury due to its bulky nature.

Cool Planet helped Allied Pickfords apply for a $12,000 government rebate through the NSW EPA’s Bin trim program to purchase an EPS melter and compactor.

“Productivity has increased greatly with the new recycling equipment which has helped us not only save on wage costs but save thousands on waste disposal fees.”
