Byron @ Byron reduces waste, while saving money

Byron @ Byron

Byron @ Byron is a large resort in Byron Bay focused on improving their sustainability throughout the business. Cool Planet focused initially on waste throughout the premises, including in the kitchen, guest rooms and staff operations.

Cool Planet suggested Byron @ Byron introduced a variety of measures to reduce waste that resulted in a significant increase in recycling rates while saving on their waste negotiated costs. Furthermore, Cool Planet assisted accessing a government rebate of $3322 to purchase and install ‘sub pod’ composting units. This resulted in converting the significant food waste from landfill to compost which enabled the growing of products on site.

“The Cool Planet waste assessment reduced waste to landfill, allowed us to engage with staff members about sustainability and helped align our company values in responsible luxury”
